100 Days Of Favor

Do you want the steak dinner or the bag of peanuts? In his book here Joseph prince is giving us deep things to reflect on. They are the spiritual truths that will help us reflect each day on the goodness of God. God is offering us a steak dinner and most of us want a bag of peanuts. In the book he gives us the thoughts that God has towards us. It is set up in short  lesson form with a prayer and a thought to meditate upon during the day. These lessons each day will help us to draw closer into the love and blessings of God. So for the next 100 days of our lives he invites us to sit at  the feet of Jesus and learn by the Spirit of God what is being said to he children of God.

He gives us contrast between living by the law to where all is dependent upon ourselves and upon grace which is given us by the finished work of Christ. Back to the steak or peanuts. The reflections are meant to help us not mix a little bit of the law and grace, they are like oil and water, they don't mix. We are so programmed to believe if we have had a good day with no sin in our day then we are able to expect good things from God. If we have not been so perfect then we don't believe God will love us and do for us. As he states in the book the best under the law fail and the worst can come to Jesus. So let us take a few moments each day and read a chapter and apply it to our lives for that day. It will have us looking to Jesus and what He has done for us to be blessed and favored of God, and not what we can do to be favored. It has already been done at the cross, so let us just believe it with our hearts.

I do believe that each and every child of God can benefit from this book and if taken in each day it will help us to truly see what God has planned for our lives. The title headings for the day have much impact and excitement in them. It is a must read for the christian seeking the favor of God.

Prayers That Bring Healing & Activate Blessings

Do we desire to take the word ad let it work in us? Do we believe that it can make a difference in our lives? These and other answers to our questions are given in this book by John Eckhardt. He has given in the book a message of explaination on each subject chosen, then has taken many of the scriptures and and formulated them into easy to understand and concise, confessions and prayers. These are prayers that can help mold and bring forth the will and desire of God for our individual and corporate lives. There are many topics and confessions in each chapter.

The author has taken subjects dear to all christians, whether they be male or female, and just a few of the titles and prayers should cause us to desire with much spiritual hunger to see these blessings manifest in our lives. He has taken the book and divided it into 2 sectionds the first deals with healing. Tehre are chapter headings such as, " Expect to be healed and, How much is it worth. He then gives different scriptures that have been turned into prayers. A couple of these confessions from the healing chapter are, " In the name of Jesus, I break every curse, of infirmity, sickness, and premature death off my body."  No sickness or plague shall come near my dwelling." Psalm 91:10.

In his 2nd part he deals with activating the blessings that God provided in Jesus. " The blessing of obedience and the Blessing of giving are a couple of chapter headings in the section. He lists many scripture references and has given us much insight to the will of God for our lives. It is a book that can be studied and many golden nuggets of truth drawn forth from it. I say it is a must read for those wanting scripture foundation...

10 Lies The Church Tells Women

In this book" Ten Lies The Church Tells Women", J. Lee Grady has sent forth a battle cry to men and women alike. This book calls for men to lay down their prejudices against women and their peconceived notions and teachings of the role of a woman in the church, the family and in general, being a woman. It is a call for women to take their place upon the earth as equal partners to the grace of God along with men. He goes through many of examples bringing line upon line, precept upon precept. The way Grady wrote this book it is a master builder of a house starting with the foundation and building upward. We have for humanity thought of women as the evil one of the curse and that she plays a role as less than human and has no authority in the church or anywhere else for that matter. He gives examples of women and the abuse they have suffered at the hands of a male dominated world. He points out that women were redeemed from the fall just as men were. They can preach, teach and do as men, for in the kingdom of God their is neither male nor female. He calls forth women to obey God and for men to repent and loose women to be all that God has called them to be.

He has cleared up some thought I had about the bible and certain scriptures that say women can't excercise authority over men. It is refreshing and a revelation that would serve the kingdom of God tremendously for men and women alike to read this book and do it with a heart of prayer. Women can be equal partners with men in the work of God. He gives clear examples from the bible on women being used of God to change the course of history for the good of a nation. As he points out, " We are only 50 percent strong in the kingdom when we don't allow women to take their place that God has called them to. There are many women who have obeyed the call who were single and also married, and were able to bring forth the will of God upon the earth. There are horrific examples of how we have used the bible to excuse abuse of women and holding them back from doing what God has called them to do. We must break out of the terrible lie of the enemy and set the women of the earth to do as God has called them and not what we as the church think should be. I strongly desire all to read this book as it can liberate both men and women.

Book Review: THE POWER OF HUMILITY

Most books claim that they have something for everyone, that can be  a misleading point. This is not the case in R.T. Kendall's book, " The Power Of Humility." It does have something for everyone, of every class, whether you are a man or woman. A student or a businesswoman. No matter who you are it is a book that will convict and at the same time give you hope for your future. There is the enemy of the soul called pride and each one of us deals with it in some measure. This book identifies the different areas of pride, whether it is in judging others, self righteousness, hypocrisy, whatever it may be is covered in the pages of this book. He candidly uses examples of his own life where pride has gotten in the way of his walk with the Lord. He also points out though, there is a place for forgiveness in Christ and a place to come to namely knowing all we have and are depends on the work Jesus did for us on the Cross.

There is wonderful news pointed out in the book and that is even though we as humans do deal with pride and it even got great people of faith in trouble at times in the bible, God still used them to accomplish His work on the earth. He can also use us, but we must turn all things over to Him so as He can use it. The book has many, many examples of how we get in pride and get twisted up by it at times. I believe this book would help everyone that was to read it. I have read it twice and gained much both times.

PURGING YOUR HOUSE, PRUNING YOUR FAMILY TREE

In this book Perry Stone has put together quite a bit of information and also some practical applications to dealing with things that could be hindering a closer walk with Jesus. There are things in peoples background of generations that can either be causing curses or blessings on a persons life. He shows how the word of God tells how curses are brought on people and how they can be broken, so as to have a better spiritual life. He gives examples of those that had great blessings and those that had curses.

He also answers on of the questions I have had for years. Why is it that children are abused and attacked when they are so young? In this book he gives candid explainations and he answers many questions a person may have about why things are going on in their lives. He takes sound biblical principles that were given to the children of Israel for ways that they were to live and worship and gives us the spiritual application for today. There are in depth looks at why things may be happening in our lives and the biblical ways to get them resolved. We can stop what may be a curse in our family tree and cause blessings to flow for generations to come. We don't know what an impact a family member may have on the world scene by us getting rid of the problem areas of our lives.

There are answers in the book as to the significance of the moons and how they affect our lives. The fact of what effect it has on the spiritual world when we watch and pray at the fourth watch. There is significance in this time frame as Jesus even prayed during this early morning time. There is also a section on how Perry was in warfare and how God dealt with the situation. This book has many answers and I was enlightened by it much and believe others will be also.

BOOK REVIEW: TEN LIES MEN BELIEVE

Are you a real man? That is a question that needs an answer. In this book we men are challenged with that question. There are definite truth that will help you answer that question. In this book J. Lee Grady points us to how male dominance prevails in the world, even in the church. He explains that we men are driven in our society to look at what we can acheive and what we possess as our measuring stick of success. This book is a call for men to look at their lives and relationships, and to repent in areas where it is needed. The issues of how we perceive our relationship with our earthly father causes us to view our heavenly father in the same manner. The issues of sexual traps we men fall into are also covered quite candidly. The way a man should look at his wife and her role in the church is also in this book. The book has answered some tough questions I have had on the issues of a woman and her role in the church. I believe women would also benefit from this book. It would give them insight into why their husbands may act as they do. It has helped me, and I say this book is a great find.

KOBIE AND ROBIE

The water was crystal blue as Mary the bear took turns splashing the water on her two cubs kobie and Robie. The cubs loved to play in the water with their mother in the heat of the day. It was cool and revived them from the heat that was stifling. Robie called out, " Mother this is so fun coming here to play, it is my favorite thing, " he bellowed as dove under the water and grabbed Kobie by the legs, pulling him under. Kobie came too the top of the water. he was shaking his head furiously. " You are such a playful youngster," Mary cried. Then she splashed water on the more playful of the two. "I will get you Robie for pulling me under the water," Kobie screamed, his face contorted with anger. He quickly grabbed Robie by the head and pushed his head under water."

Mary yelled at Kobie to let his brother go. She was not pleased with his attitiude today. "Kobie you should not get so angry with you brother like that, I am ashamed of your actions. He was only playing with you." "You two must learn to get along and play with each other with love and compassion, not with anger and strife." She then smiled at Kobie to let him know that she loved him. She had them hug and say they were both sorry and that they would be more caring of the other one.

Mary had known for along time that her two sons were as different as hot and cold, deep and shallow. Robie was the fun loving one, happy, playful and had a general jolly attitude. He was much like herself. She had often told her friends and family that Robie was a spitting image of her. She held a bit of pride in her heart for that fact.

Kobie on the other hand was a lot like his father Wiilard. He was serious, thoughtful, and not given to whims as Robie was. She had in fact had long dicussions with Willard about this. They never discussed serious matters in front of the cubs. There had been times when Willard has chided Mary for being a bit too playful with him. He didn't like that side of her much. She could see where and why Kobie was in his relationship to his brother.

Robie brought Mary out of her daydreaming by exclaiming " Mom I think we should get something we can play in the water with." he splashed water all around as he swam toward Kobie. Kobie screamed out at him " You are the one  that is always making my life miserable with your playing and carefree life." Mary then got out of the water and shook herself off. "It is time to go boys your father will be home shortly."

The boys obeyed and come out of the water and followed their mother home. Kobie was glad to be going home as he wanted to see his father. They had a special bond. Willard loved his both his sons, it was just Kobie seemed more like him. Robie would have liked to stay and play in the cool water till dark. He knew it wouldn't be long till they hibernated in the cave for the winter. He for one wasn't fond of that situation. Willard was already at the cave to greet them when they returned home. Kobie ran up to his father and gave him a big hug. How's my boy today," Willard asked his son. "ok I guess," replied Kobie. " I dont like the lake as much as Robie, but it's alright." Willard looked at his youngest son with a bit of concern. He knew Kobie was a little afraid of the water. He then asked Robie about his day, " It was wonderful dad I had a lot of fun playing in the water. I want to go back as many times as we can before winter, " he said with excitement in his voice.

As they sat at the table Willard looked at Mary and she gave him the it's the time look. So then the father began speaking to his two sons. "Boys I think you both should know that your mother and I want you to love each other.  The bible states " we should love one another, we should prefer the other above ourself. If we do that then we are pleasing God.  " Willard and Mary looked at their sons to see if what was being taught them was taking hold. " Do you know what your father is saying?" she asked them.  Both Kobie and Robie looked at each other for a moment and then stated that they both understood. " Well boys your mother and I want you to look for ways to be kind and loving to each other. The boys said they would do just that. They all laughed together, and settled in for a family night of caring and love.

THE HOUSES OF DIFFERENCE

This story begin as we look at twin brothers. They were both raised in a loving christian home, but as we shall see they took different paths in life. They were both taught the word of God as children. One took heed and the other did not. They were typical boys who loved to play sports, took part in school activities and even married their high school sweethearts. They both grew to be young men with much hope and promise, and as we shall see the differences became apparent.

Now Harry, he married and they had two lovely children. Harry had a thriving T- Shirt business that he ran upon the principals of the word of God as he had been taught as a youth. His wife was a strong woman of faith and did much work in the community and church. Harry glorified God in his business, and he gave to the poor widows and orphans. He was a spiritual leader at home and everyday had family time centered around the word of God and prayer. They also worshipped the Lord as a family. Harry was a leader in the local church and did mission outreach. He took his relationship with God to be a serious thing. He desired to be more like Jesus. He stood on the word of God as his source of knowledge and wisdom.

Now with Larry the same was not true. He made investments and had other ventures, but they never worked out right. He didn't glorify God in his life. He went to church here and there, but nothing consistent. He desired earthly pleasures more than he desired to know God. His wife wasn't a strong individual, she didn't have a relationship with God. Therefore the two children they had weren't raised in the word of God. Larry thought why should I give money to the preacher, when he could use it on his own dark pleasures. He didn't take heed to the fact that it was God he was giving the money to and not the preacher. He didn't remember that God loved a cheerful giver. He didn't heed what he learned as a child as Harry did.

The scriptues plainly give us the basis of the story. Matthew 7:24-27 is the scriptures for our story. " Therefore whosoever heareth these saying of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock, vs.25, and the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. vs.26 And everyone that heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand, vs 27 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it." (KJV)

So when the storms of life hit Harry and Larry, their preparation in life, or lack of it took over. When the storms of difficulty hit his marriage, the winds of adversity hit his finances, when the floods rushed in to cause his children to rebel, Harry was ready. It wasn't easy, but he was ready. He stood on the promises of God and never gave up. He stood on the great rock, Jesus Christ.

Not so with Larry for he hadn't prepared his life as he should. When the floods of advesity hit and the winds blrew hard against his life he was shaken. Crisis in his marriage, his finances and children and his health carried him away in a flood of despair. He was all washed up!  He didn't have the solid foundation of the rock of jesus to stand on, he was ruined. The moral of this story, be found standing on the rock, Jesus, when the storms of life hit. Be there with the word and a relationship with God. Amen!!!

CHOOSING LIFE

This skit begins in a courtroom setting. There are 4 participants. There is the almighty God residing as the judge. There is the defense, the one and only savior of mankind, Jesus. There is the acusser, satan. And then we have man. God begins the proceedings by calling forth the prosecution.

God: " Satan what charges do you bring before me today?."

Satan: " I charge that this man has broken the laws set forth by you."

God: "What laws would that be.?"

satan: " This man has not trusted in you, as his Savior. He has went his own way not believing in you. He is therefore condemned. He is to be turned over to me, for eternal torment.  He has no right to the promises or blessings set forth for those who are yours. This man shall have no peace or rest. Torment shall be his lot in life. He has not received your grace, or your mercy. I, therefore move to have this man turned over to me to be shackled and tormented for all eternity."

There was an outburst of shrills from the demons as they looked hungrily at the man standing accused. They just knew soon they would have another soul to feast upon with sickening torment. God called for quite and the demons did shake. The courtroom goes silent as Jesus stands to present His case.

Jesus: " Your honorable God, I want to present this case as a work in progress. I believe in this hearing we shall present clear facts. I have by the Holy Spirit been working on his heart. There have been many of my saved ones sowing seeds of the gospel in his heart. I have been interceding for him and I believe he has something to say. My blood has been given for his salvation. I therefore move we hear his response."

As Jesus sits down, God calls forth the man. He stands slowly, shaking, and breathing deeply. His eyes are filled with tears. The angels and demons await to hear what the man has to say. The man speaks, lips trembling.

Man: " There have been many people who have brought forth the Gospel to me. I have rejected it for so long. Not any longer. Today I say that I am a sinner on my way to utter darkness. I am a man in need of a Savior. I accept all that jesus did for me on the cross for me. I give my life to Jesus as my Savior and Lord. I invite Him into my heart. "

Chaos breaks out from the prince of darkness and his minions, as another soul is brought to Jesus. God quickly takes control of the situation. He then addresses all those present with His descision.

God: " My verdict based upon all that I have heard today, the man is justified. He has accepted the terms set forth to have life eternal. He has accepted the blood of Jesus, to wash away his sins and rescue him from utter darkness. He is now sanctified and set apart to Jesus. I am writing his name in The Lambs Book of Life..I am sending forth the Holy Spirit to guide and teach him. This case is closed, court is adjourned."

There was much rejoicing between the angels as another soul was added to the Kingdom of God. Jesus wrapped His arms around the man and smiled, as He led him from the courtroom.....

THE ADDICTED

The sun shines and the heat comes down and it envelops you in  the mighty grasp.  The birds sing and fly about landing to check out a meal of crumbs. Those who are chased by the demons of alcohol and drugs are forced to seek out another drink, another rock. They need something to drive out the misery and pain that ever so slowly, yet rapidly at times, consumes a soul and drives it to the depths of no other escape.

Driven, torn, and ravaged, one plots onward to self destruction. Some come to this place after being comfortable, loved, and respected. It clasped them with a grip not to be broken. Its mighty claws tear apart all sanity and all that identifies one on the earth.

The toll of it all has taken many a strong person to the pits. Once some of them lived the dream, but now has lost all. Their job, their marriage, their homes, the loving children, and also the respect of fellow humans. They have been cast aside as rotten fruit is cast to the field. Their hopes and desires are but a thing of the past. On they march, trembling, sweating with fear, to the next point of a real and sadistic demise.

The love others had for them is gone, taken by lies and distrust. Oh, that someone would love me is the cry of the embittered, torn, and broken heart. They are alone there in the darkest of the night. The night being a thing of its own, ready to swoop down and engulf the prey, much like a lion on a deer.

Cries ring out unseemingly unheard as caring isn't something this soul knows. Despair and defeat clutch to it and hold on. Those that did care have gone away and closed off, having been tortured themselves by the one tortured. Alone, alone they go, " Why, they say must I be here?.

But, there is one listening, His heart beating, watching, ever so affectionately. He has a plan, He has already fulfilled the plan. His eyes roam about the earth looking for one of His emmisaries to go forth and set the captive free. "Take the plan and the battle to the torured one and drive out the tormentor " is His mighty battle cry.

This one has all the answers for the tortured soul. He desires and beckons. With all His heart He wants the afflicted one to take hold of the plan He has fulfilled and make it their own. For with His blood, Jesus has wrote out the plan!!!

THE WATERING OF ALL

The rain did come down as it washed the earth with its mighty force,
going about heavily as it was on the given way God set on course.
God gives rain for all the plants and settling of dust,
and it runs across the earth washing all it must.
Water is needed by all things that have life by living,
And by God's mighty awesome grace water to all He is giving.
Drought causes thirst to all living things and without it they die,
the animals also need it and to the almighty God they cry.
The plants need it for their glorious beauty and to give us food,
and without this precious commodity called water all would brood.
People need water so as to water each and every cell,
and water is needed to put out flames that burn like hell.
water is needed to clean all the things we are blessed to own,
like the washing of the water of the word our souls it does tone.
The Bible says we are clean by having the word wash our soul,
it does the work of making all of our being free and whole.
The word is a seed that needs watering in our hearts by grace,
so by God in His wisdom and mercy sin it does erase.
To take the word in and let it do the work by cleansing us right,
then for us to give it out to our fellow man is right in Jesus sight.

THE PATH UP

I was walking on a path that had no life,
All that was for me was anger, bitterness, and strife.
Down, down in alcohol and drugs did I ever go,
illicit love affairs abounded as never I could say no.
Death put it's arms around me to lead,
my thoughts were radical I would have to concede.
Bitter and crying inside did I ever so run,
not seeing the love that was in God's own Son.
My broken heart was shattered with no seeming repair,
then one day by the Spirit the Cross I did stare.
The tragedy of my sin hung Him on that Cross,
but He opened my eyes to see by Him my life was no loss.
I fell on my knees and did cry for His saving grace,
His loving heart did reach down in the badly broken place.
His nail scarred hands did heal my terribly wounded heart,
and by filling me with His Spirit I have a new start.
I leap for joy where I was so markedly sad,
I read His Holy Word and by His Spirit I'm very glad.
The work He has begun in me will continue till His return,
and to love him and serve Him does my heart burn.
Now I'm on a path full of light and joy,
my heart is anew with Jesus and His zoe.
Now everyone I meet I want them to have His love,
so as they can look not down or around, but, Above...

Getting The Word Out

I have set up this blog to get the word out on the saving grace of God. I will be posting writings, pictures and general information.
